Winter Is Here!

Updated: Mar 13, 2022

The cold months are upon us! The time the day gets shorter and night time feels longer.

This is the time we often want to be around our family and friends.

During this time, some people may go into unfulfilling relationships in a bid to avoid being alone.

You don’t have go into a relationship

that leads to emotional emptiness.

You can use the winter months to grow spiritually.

With that being said, I will like to share with you some strategies for getting through the winter months.

1 ) Get Closer To God

“Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you.” Joshua 1:5. KJV.

Spend some time during the day to study the Bible and pray. This could be anything from 20 minutes to an hour. The most important thing is to spend quality time with God.

2) Stay Busy

If you live away from your family and friends, you can call them or set up time for group video calls with them. Go out to coffee shops and parks. Register for online/offline classes such as, Christian painting clubs, Christian book clubs, Christian cooking/baking clubs, piano lessons and many more.

Including, physical activities such as tennis, football/soccer, running, walking, badminton and others.

3) Talk To Someone

Share your feelings with those you trust. Open up to them and seek solutions together. Tell them about your worries and pray together.

4) Take Care Of Yourself

lastly, make sure you are getting enough sleep and eating healthy foods.

In all this, always remember that even in these winter months, God is still with you. God is always with you and He will never leave you.

“And the Lord, it is he that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed.” Deuteronomy 31:8. KJV.
